Typewriter Shaped Loaded Envelope

You know the latest craze..loaded envelopes, I tried several times to get into this craze. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the way they look, watched several videos and just in awe. But when I tried to do them, I don't know.. just wasn't feeling it. UNTIL one day while sitting at my craft table staring at my Cricut Doodletype cartridge (an oldie , but a goodie)  I noticed a typewriter among the fonts. Wait! What??? A typewriter.... how have I never noticed it before.... to me the typewriter was everything, it was love at first sight. Instantly I thought ohh a typewriter LE, hmmm... a shaped one? I hadn't yet seen a shaped LE... could it work, I wondered... then my inner Kevin McCallister  kicked in (Home Alone) "I'll give it a whirl"......Boy am I glad I did... I love it so much.. and now needless to say, I'm hooked.....

 Easy, Quick Up cycled Gift

So every year Christmas gifts for my mom and mother in law, is a combination of store bought and handmade. Last year my niece requested that part of her gift from us be handmade. I am happy to fill that request.... NOT beacuse it's cheap..but beacuse I love handmade gifts..I appreciate them....The thought of someone putting their time, creativity and love... it's just priceless. So here is what I came up with.....

Aint it cute!!!  This was super easy to make and might I add ..frugal!!! Supplies I used was an old wood frame, a sheet of scrapbook paper, chipboard or cardboard, paper trimmer or sizzors, pearl trim, paint, brush, a wooden "J" and some embellishments. The glass was removed from the frame. Which was perfect for the wooden letter...it added demension..made it pop!

I trimmed my paper and chipboard to fit in the frame...

Added them to my freshly painted frame...this lovely blue is Pool Blue by Apple Barrel.

Next I painted the wooden "J"....layered it on top of a white heart doily. Added a big bling piece in the center. Ran some pearl trim around the frame and the top of the "J".

I made a cute bow out of a piece of fabric. In the center of the bow I ran a piece of the left over paper..then ran some pearl trim...just an added touch.

Finished it off by adding a super sparkely chipboard "dream". And thats it! A super cute ...simple... fun gift....
